Wine to Water is committed to support life and dignity for all through the power of clean water.

In 2015, Grand Circle Foundation launched our WASH (Water, And Sanitation, Hygiene) initiative with a goal for every school and village we support to have access to an adequate supply of clean water, and toilets that meet or exceed local standards.

By early 2018, we realized that although we were able to manage getting clean water to schools, we struggled to get water to the villages and needed an international partner. Lucky for us, we found Wine to Water.

The Wine To Water filter build program is an opportunity for groups and organizations to assemble filters, strengthen corporate social responsibility and become educated about and engaged in the world water crisis. Each filter removes 99.9999 percent of bacteria which cause waterborne diseases and provides an entire family with clean water for more than 10 years.

Grand Circle sponsored a filter build of 1,000 water filters that involved associates from 30 countries. Associates put together 1000 water filters that will eventually be shipped to communities around the world.

When war broke out in Ukraine, Wine to Water quickly jumped into action, working with their local partner Mission 823, 12,000 filters were delivered in stages into Ukraine.  The filters arrived in Romania and transferred across the border to Kolomyya for distribution.

Wine to Water has built an immense volunteer network throughout Ukraine which has responded with different types of water filtration systems and also provided emergency medical supplies.  Thanks largely to the partnership with Grand Circle Foundation they have been able to mobilize that network to reach over 200,000 people.  With the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine, a greater need for water filtration in Ukraine was created.  Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson Oblasts were sent 6,500 filters.  Over 300,000 people have now benefitted from these filters, which can provide clean water for up to 10 years.

Water contamination is a severe issue throughout Ukraine. Since March of 2022 WTW has implemented 27,825 water filters throughout the entire country.

Water access, as well as groundwater contamination has become a serious issue, especially in the Donetsk Oblast. To address this, Wine to Water partnered with another NGO (Water Mission International) to provide 11 large scale community water access and treatment points. Each location will consist of a newly drilled well (provided by WTW), a high-capacity Reverse Osmosis water filtration system as well as water tanks/towers to contain and distribute the water (provided by WMI).
