Plavecký Štvrtok is a village with an excluded Roma locality in western Slovakia.

The 115 children who attend this elementary school already face many challenges, so the school works with the aim to broaden the possibilities of socially disadvantaged children to freely choose their study and subsequently their career path in order to be included into the society.

Grand Circle Foundation has funded the purchase and installation of an interactive whiteboard to help with English language instruction, purchased instruments for the school’s music program and most recently funded the purchase of tablets for the Special Education program.  The school has found that for many of the students with challenges to motor skill function, the use of a tablet on a regular basis has helped them to develop and improve their fine motor skills by engaging in highly immersive learning experiences.
