At Grand Circle Corporation, community service is a fundamental aspect of who we are and with the help of Grand Circle Foundation, our regional offices are able to share their efforts.

“We are pleased to share the successful completion of the Good Hope Crèche community renovation project, which was finished on 21 November 2025.

On behalf of our entire team and the Macassar community, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for your support. Below this report you will find the before-and-after photographs, which clearly demonstrate the remarkable transformation your contribution made possible.

When our team first arrived at the crèche a few months ago, the state of the facility was truly heartbreaking — fading walls, broken windows, deteriorating play equipment, and a learning environment that had visibly suffered from decades of underfunding. Yet by the end of the Friday November 21st, through the coordinated work of the professional contractor and our associates, the crèche had been completely revitalized. Freshly painted classrooms, repaired walls, replaced gutters, refurbished doors, new windows, a brightened kitchen and office, restored play equipment, and uplifting artwork in the play park significantly changed the atmosphere and the quality of the environment for the children.

One of the most powerful moments of the day came from the principal of the crèche. She delivered an emotional, heartfelt speech to our team, expressing how these improvements will ensure the safety, dignity, and continued operation of the centre. She emphasized that for more than 40 years, Good Hope Crèche has served children from deeply disadvantaged circumstances — many of whom rely on the crèche not only for early learning, but for their only secure meals each day. Her words made it clear that the work done was far more than maintenance; it was an investment in the future of the children and the community.

Nothing, however, compared to the reaction of the children. As soon as they stepped into their newly renovated classrooms and play areas, their faces lit up with pure joy and excitement. The laughter, curiosity, and eagerness to explore their refreshed environment were deeply moving. Several teachers mentioned that they had never seen the children so animated and proud of their school. In that moment, the purpose and impact of the project became vividly clear.

This project demonstrated the strength of collective action: the foundation’s generous support, the skilled work of the contractor, and the hands-on commitment of our associates all worked seamlessly together to ensure a professional, safe, and lasting upgrade to the crèche. The improvements not only brought immediate relief to the staff and children but also placed the centre back in alignment with health and safety requirements, protecting it from potential closure.

We want to extend our sincere appreciation to both of you, Barbara and Dan, for believing in this initiative and enabling us to bring meaningful change where it was desperately needed. Your support has had a visible, tangible, and lasting impact on nearly 100 children who attend the crèche daily. Their brighter, safer, and more dignified learning environment is a direct result of your generosity.
Thank you once again for helping us create an outcome that this community will remember for years to come.

Warm regards,
The Cape Town GCC Team”
