St. Petersburg Music Boarding School

At the St. Petersburg Music Boarding School in Russia, 220 students between the ages of six and 16 are trained in music arts. Even if you're not an avowed music lover, to witness children fulfilling their musical potential is truly inspiring—and to encourage such achievements is the best way to support a community, in Russia or elsewhere in the world.

To date, Grand Circle Foundation has donated over $26,000 to the school. In its 250-seat concert hall, where the students are able to share their accomplishments, the Foundation has provided audio equipment and helped the school orchestra with the recording and printing of its first CDs. Foundation donations have also been used to fund the establishment of a computer lab, to invest in new instruments, and to renovate the school's kitchen, restrooms, bedrooms, and heating system.

"We learned so much from the school visit in Russia," share Nancy and Andrew Redmond, 10-time travelers from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. "The children were happy and smart." In fact, some travelers have been so moved by their visit, they've purchased musical instruments for the children on their own after their return home!
