"Our greeting by the children was enthusiastic. They met us in their local costumes and took our hands to lead us to their school. Bravo to Grand Circle Foundation for sponsoring such a worthwhile project!"

Baan Kia Luang School:Located in the village of Kia Luang, which hosts OAT travelers for their Day in the Life experience in Laos, Baan Kia Luang has just one classroom and one teacher for the 40 students who attend first and second grade here. During a community service event, our team in Laos delivered a filing cabinet and 18 sets of donated tables and chairs to the school; and they painted the classroom windows. Foundation funds have also been used to complete the local community center.
Kia Luang Village:The women of Kia Luang Village have exceptional weaving skills, which have been passed down through generations. Yet despite their abilities, they have been unable to make an income from their craft due to a lack of equipment and supplies. To support their entrepreneurial aspirations, Grand Circle Foundation has donated $2000 to purchase 10 handloom machines and set up a silk weaving center in the village. "The handloom machines will definitely provide an income for our people, especially the women who have no permanent jobs or their own farms," says Mrs. Chansouk, the leader of the local women's association in Kia Luang. "Please pass our appreciation to the OAT travelers who donated the money to our village. Thank you very much for your kindness and for helping to create a career for us."
