A Welcome from Alan & Harriet

Welcome to our first monthly e-newsletter, dedicated to where we're giving, who's inspiring us, and how we're changing lives together. This month, we've been especially devoted to the monumental relief effort in Haiti—and we'll update you on our fundraising campaign. We also share stories about the special people and projects that lie at the heart of Grand Circle Foundation, 365 days a year. We hope you enjoy this first edition—and that you'll sign up to ensure you'll receive future updates on our efforts in villages around the world.

We have been privileged to work with a long list of gutsy leaders who have aided and inspired us over the years. Each month, we'll introduce you to three of these outstanding individuals, all of whom have changed the world in their own unique way.

Susan Rodgerson
Executive/Artistic Director, Artists for Humanity

By helping young people find their creative voice—and teaching them to share that voice with the world—Susan gives underprivileged Boston youths the skills and confidence they need for success. We've been proud to support Susan from the very beginning, and we're thrilled about what she's accomplished. More »
Ree Sheck
Writer and Conservationist; Grand Circle Foundation Honorary Director

We'll match your gift 100% through February 1
Back in 2006, an ambitious Foundation project in Costa Rica prompted us to completely re-imagine the way we give. This led to our "Invest in a Village" program, which we first announced in December.

San Francisco de Penas Blancas
Now in its third and final phase, the microfarm at the San Francisco School is close to being completely self-sustainable—but the village needs help reaching its fundraising goals, beginning with a water supply system and well that will cost $13,000. Through February 1, Grand Circle Foundation has committed to match every gift dollar for dollar to help get Phase 3 underway.

To learn more about the microfarm, please watch the video at left. We hope it inspires you to help us reach our goal.
